Quality here means a material that matches an agreed specification, and a consignment that can be traced back to where it came from.
Specification comes before quotation
Every enquiry is answered with a specification before it is answered with a price. That specification states the botanical identity, the plant part, the process where one applies, the form the material is supplied in, and any parameter you have asked us to work to.
If something cannot be supplied to the specification you need, that is established at this stage rather than after an order.
What identifies a material
- Botanical name. Genus and species. Common names are ambiguous across markets and are not sufficient on their own.
- Plant part. Leaf, flowering top, root, seed or aerial parts. Different parts of one species are different ingredients.
- Process. Dried, steam distilled, expressed or extracted.
- Form. Whole, cut, powdered, oil or water.
Traceability
Consignments carry a reference that ties a delivery back to the harvest and, for distilled materials, to the distillation it came from. That reference is what makes a later question about a specific delivery answerable.
Documentation
Documentation availability is ingredient-specific. What can accompany a consignment, and in what form, is confirmed during the enquiry and before a quotation is issued.
This site does not list certifications, and none should be inferred from any page on it. Where a certification is required for your market, tell us at enquiry so that it can be established whether the requirement can be met before anything is committed.
