Description
Lentiscus — mastic in much of the trade — is a niche material with a fresh, bitter-balsamic, faintly turpentine character. It is not a volume ingredient. Perfumers reach for it when a composition needs naturalness and a dry green edge at the opening that cleaner top notes cannot supply.
In composition
It is used as a top note in citrus colognes and lavender-fougères, and to sharpen green, incense and resinous accords. Small inclusions do the work.
Enquiring
Because the material trades in modest quantities, tell us the frequency you would order at as well as the volume and the profile. Request a Quote, or see Fragrance & Perfumery for the wider range. Modest but repeating quantities are exactly what how repeat supply is structured covers. Wild-gathered material and its season are described in cultivated and wild-harvested supply.
